• 1. Rescue: Minibus (Xiaoba), a pug with a fractured right hind leg, was abandoned at a pet hospital. StarCare Animals' team adopted him.

  • 2. Recovery: Adoption comes with responsibility. After two months of recovery, Minibus was able to walk slowly, but due to inactivity, he gained significant weight, developed a persistent cough, and frequently wheezed. A Holter ECG revealed severe arrhythmias and frequent premature contractions.

  • 3. Rehabilitation: The team adjusted his diet and created a step-by-step exercise rehabilitation plan, incorporating daily treadmill sessions.

  • 4. Training: At first, Minibus was reluctant. However, with treats and patient guidance, he gradually adapted to treadmill exercise, forming a positive conditioned response.

  • 5. Results: After 3 Months: Minibus's gait improved noticeably, he lost 2 kg, and his coughing and wheezing significantly decreased. Arrhythmias and premature beats nearly disappeared, and his overall exercise ability, including leash walking and running, improved greatly.

  • With Minibus's improved heart health, there is every confidence that his quality of life will continue to improve and extend.
